The Study of Colour | Seeing Red

Welcome to this Academic Study of seeing Colour.

My friend and mentor Bryan Peterson has taught me and all of his worldwide students about the beauty and magic of Colour in Photography.

I have come to appreciate how much Colour, especially Primary Colours draws my eye and attention.

I am spending this week focusing my eye and attention on seeing Primary Colours.

Today begins with the Colour Red.

This is a most dynamic expression of Colour.

What comes to mind when you think of the Colour Red?

Red Flowers comes to mind, like Roses.

Red Fruit & Veg.

Red Melon - perfect for hot summer days.

Today, I was looking to see where the Colour Red featured in my neighbourhood as a compliment.

A Traffic Signal Mirror-opening image, what’s behind The Red Door? Red Tail Light for road safety.

The most interesting expression of this Colour was to be found on people.

While enjoying my morning Coffee, I noticed my Deck of Cards - Red Backed.

I always use Red Backed Cards because it matches my skin tone

This has been an interesting observation to kick off this study. One thing I am present to is the power of setting an intention. The Brain kicks into gear once I step outside. I can trust that my mind and vision will switch on and I will see what I need to see.

See you tomorrow with a study of Green.

Thanks for reading. x
