The Warmth of Light

The Temperature of Light has a powerful impact on my mood and emotional state.

When I leave my house, the first thing I do is take a Temperature reading of the Light. I don’t need any fancy equipment to this.

I can feel it.

Today was perfect, I could feel the Light was lovely and warm just by looking at the side of the buildings in my neighbourhood.

I estimated a Kelvin reading of K5200. Kelvin is the fancy name given to how cool, warm or hot the Light is. Cool Light would be much lower than K5200, a warmer temperature moves up the scale.

On my Camera, there is a setting which allows me to set the Temperature correctly. This is called White Balance - this is very important because it ensures my colours in my images look right.

The Camera has to be set correctly because it doesn’t see the colour of Light the way the human eye can.

Since the start of the year, the colour of Light and its temperature has been very cold and this has impacted my mood; my Mother was buried on such a day when the clouds covered every area of sky, I couldn’t see any blue.

The ambience was flat and oppressive. I can feel coolness of the Light at mum’s Grave.

No warmth.

This image reflects how it felt in this moment.

Today is a different feeling.

It’s all about warm Light.

Warm Light means my spirit is being uplifted.

How appropriate it was to see a Helicopter in my Park today.

The Weather Forecast for the next few days is indicative of Weather in this country. Back to Overcast gloomy oppressive days.

At the very least, I recognise warm Light when I feel it.

Thanks for reading. 🔥
