Painting with Light

The beauty of The Mirrorless System is being able to fine tune my exposure - “paint with light” - before I create the image.

I can see with precision where the light is falling, and see the contrast detail and most importantly, expose for my highlights correctly.

Shooting into the light leave dark areas and creates silhouettes - I find this compelling.

The most interesting parts of an image have no light detail. This creates tension and drama.

The Sunny 16 Rule has been useful in this regard because it gives me certainty that my bright areas will be exposed while crushing the dark areas in my scene.

The Highlights exist because the shadows say so.
